Fresh from a wonderful three-month musical tour of France and Europe, the Franco-American-Kiwi duo Sonia & Nigel are back on the road in New Zealand from 26 September to 25 October 2026, with concerts and musical encounters across the country. They are delighted to return to Taupo for a lovely intimate house concert show at Rob & Michelle's home.

Born in Paris to American parents and based in New Zealand since 2016, Sonia Wilson forms a multicultural acoustic duo with New Zealand musician and multi-instrumentalist Nigel Gavin. Together they weave French songs, New Zealand and American favourites, original compositions and stories from the road.

Their first European tour took them from Burgundy to Alsace, from northern France to Brussels, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, before continuing through several regions of France, from Montélimar and Uzès to Île d’Oléron, Brittany and Normandy. Along the way, they performed concerts, led workshops and took part in several festivals, while meeting and making music with many local communities.

Back in Aotearoa, they are now bringing the songs and stories of their European adventure to New Zealand audiences. This tour will take them to Nelson, Golden Bay, Hanmer Springs, Dunedin, Te Anau, Queenstown, Akaroa, Christchurch, Picton, Wellington, Taupō and Auckland, among other places.
