A multimedia show combining live music, storytelling and improvised visual art. This evening offers a celebration of Music and Art as precious tools for (self-)exploration, integration, healing and generating joy across cultures, generations, kilometres or beliefs.
A rare family reunion between the popular NZ-based Sonia & Nigel duo and Sonia's parents visiting from France, this unusual soirée is bound to bring a smile to your face. A family celebration of creativity and all that we've been given by the ones who came before. With the brave support of multi-instrumentalist and renowned 7-string guitarist Nigel Gavin, who will also be showcasing his 11-string fretless glissentar!
This Earthsong edition of the Home Is Where The HeART Is tour concert will also feature a special appearance of Sonia's ukulele ensemble "4 Strings Sing", which has been a heart-centered musical home for Sonia the past years since her move to New Zealand.
The "Sweet Paname" book and CD released by the Sonia & Nigel duo in 2023 will be available for purchase. A book, album and art exhibit all-in-one, it is a musical ode to Sonia’s hometown of Paris France, recorded in Dunedin and illustrated by 17 artists around the globe.
Earthsong Eco-Neighbourhood Centre, Rānui, Waitakere, Auckland Earthsong is an innovative urban co-housing development in west Auckland, New Zealand, and a model of socially and environmentally sustainable urban living. We are very grateful to have the opportunity to showcase and share our music in such an aptly named and ecologically-minded venue. Many thanks to our Earthsong host Ritchie who has been playing bass in the 4 Strings Sing ukulele ensemble lately.
